Giant TCR C1

After about 9 months of saving money, i was finally able to raise enough money to buy a new bike. Hooray! I got a pretty good deal from my local bike shop, with all the components of the 2008 model but with the -06 frame (which is identical to the -08 one, except it’s black).

Now I just need to get in shape…

Specs anyone?

Spent the weekend at the summerhouse. Now counting 16 mosquito bites. On the right foot only. Also to blame is Holland.

This could have been my next apartment, but unfortunately it won’t be, because of someone’s aunt who promised too much. Or something. I dunno. So it’s back to square one when it comes to finding one. Oh well. My trip is almost over. I kinda like this place! Nice people, warm weather, good food, perfect girlfriend. What more could anyone ask for? Can’t wait to go back soon again.

We haven’t done much, really. Mostly just hanging out. Sleep, eat, coffee, rinse and repeat. Went to see an accountant today. It’s gonna be hugely expensive before I get things going. About 15 000 - 20 000 SEK. Gah. Add to that airline tickets and deposits to future apartment. Ouch. Better start making some money soon.

Oh well, time to head out for dinner. Will post more pictures later!

Watched the series finale of Rome and the season finale of Battlestar Galactica yesterday evening. The finale of Rome, De Patre Vostro, was an excellent episode, and I feel that I have somewhat neglected the show this last season, often fiddling with other stuff while watching it. It is/was a series that demands your attention more than, say, Alias or 24. All in all, it was a typical HBO production; extremely
beautifully shot, excellent actors and just high budget, all in all. The thing it perhaps lacked was a soul, but I find that usually is the case with HBO’s series. They are beautiful in every way, but they don’t have the little extra thing that perhaps House or Firefly has/had.

Friday. Finally. And quite an expensive one at that. But yeah! I’ve bought tickets to Singapore (again), and I’m leaving on the 4th of April. Per is moving to Holland the same day, so he and I (and probably the rest of the family) will hang out in Amsterdam for a couple of hours before my flight leaves for Singapore. Have to start prepping for my trip though. What people to see, what forms to fill. All that jazz.

But man, oh man, is it gonna be nice to go or what!

In other news, the Friday was kinda nice. A lot of meetings in the day, and Jonas and I had the world’s best pizza, folköl, watched the series premiere of The Riches (could definitely be something), the series premiere of Raines with Jeff Goldblum (pretty abysmal) and the series premiere of October Road (boring). Gonna end the evening with Lost and orange juice, I think.

Just finished watching the last episode of Stargate SG-1. I’d say it was an ok end to an ok show. I mean, I’ll watch anything sci-fi, but this show definitely had its moments. Though I must say it had a pretty rapid decline since season 9.

It pretty much came down to a lack of good characters. O’Neill (Richard Dean Anderson, yes, MacGuyver) was the character who kept the show together. The rest, with the possible exception of Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks) were all pretty blend.

Guess I’ll have to stay with Battlestar Galactica to get my dose of sci fi needs from now on. And perhaps Stargate Atlantis. Somebody revive Firefly already!

Now I’m gonna check if Fox’s new series The Ri˘hes, with among others, Eddie Izzard, is as good as some say.
